Inspiring Women


Women play a big role in inspiring and changing the world for betterment, especially in difficult times. Their contributions to the development of our country and the large part they play in society can be clearly seen. Just like nurses, teachers, janitress, waitresses, and so on. Especially our mothers who brought us into this world and continue to love us.

However, many women still experience discrimination and inequality on the basis of sex and gender across the world. Nevertheless, women and other people still promote women’s sense of self-worth, showing their ability to determine their own choices and speak for their right to influence social change for themselves and others. Such as Hidilyn Diaz a Filipina weightlifter and airwoman and the first Filipino to ever win an Olympic gold medal for the Philippines. She proved to everyone that there is nothing women cannot do and that women don’t have to let society dictate what’s right for them.

Another empowered Filipina woman who continues to initiate the betterment of society until now is Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray. She has been an inspiration to many, and even after finishing her Miss Universe reign, she continues to work on different advocacies, from LGBT rights to cultural education, and encouraged fellow women to empower themselves.

Indeed, women are a big part of our lives, not only in our homes but all over the world. Even now that we are facing a major blow of the covid-19 pandemic, many women front liners have served as heroes to us who have sacrificed their lives for our sake. Therefore we must learn to appreciate and respect women more and give them the rights and equality they deserve.
